| Ian White writes “I
went full time 17 years ago. My wife and I formed Little Misty
Music Ltd, and we've run it as home run 'ma and pa' outfit
ever since. Current total sales are around 250,000 units.
We're like a big record company but in miniature! What kicked
us off was a series of Psalms albums that still sell in small
but steady numbers, and wherever I go I'm always referred
to as the Scots guy who did the Psalms! I don't think of myself
as a worship writer, or a children's writer or any classification
like that.
It's been a good year. An upbeat compilation album called
Non Stop came out earlier in
the year and has been well received, and as this issue goes
out I'm releasing a quiet meditative album of tracks featuring
grand piano, called simply Ian White – Piano.
I've worked with writer/musician Chris Eaton on many recordings,
and this collection contains several of his contributions.
We're doing a big 'pre-Christmas' concert together in Belfast
on November 29th and it'll be great to feature some of the
tracks from the 'piano' album. We're also being joined in
the concert by triple jumper Jonathan Edwards, who'll give
his testimony, and, yes, sing and play! [He's pretty good
I actually]. We've become good friends ever since we got in
touch through a Songs of Praise thing.”
Ian is married to Carol and, have two sons. Their recording
company, Little Misty Music, continues to handle production
of the new projects and distribution to retail outlets in
the UK. Recent developments are the establishing of a home
studio in Perth, and the setting up of online sales to anywhere
in the world, via the website, www.littlemistymusic.com.
