Hi everyone, and thanks for logging
on.
Just a quick update on
my recent trip, which was described in the diary as being to
Russia, followed immediately by India. Well, the Russian bit
didn't happen! Due to changes in visa regulations that the
trip organisers only found out about at the last minute, we had
our visa applications blocked, and with flights booked, and
concerts set up in four different towns, the whole thing got
grounded. I was really down about it, but it's just one of
these things. Another trip is being put together for next
September.
Anyway, India happened! I flew
to Calcutta with some folks from Compassion, and singer Graham
Kendrick, to visit some of Compassion's projects there, and also
to participate a little in a film that Compassion was making
featuring Graham. Making the film was great fun, and also very
moving. When the film is done, my intention will be to show it
at concerts as part of my presentation about Compassion's work.
Over the autumn/winter of 2005/6 I'd like to do an extensive
series of Compassion concerts around the UK-- if this is
something you'd like to think about hosting in your town, please
drop me a line---

Tomorrow I'm off to Philadelphia
to participate in a Church conference. I'll update when I get
back.
Best wishes,
Ian.
