Hi Everyone, and Happy New Year to all of you!
Well, the
decorations are down, the kids are back at school, and it's time to get some
work done again.
My music schedule kicks off this year with
another U.S. trip. I leave on Thursday for a return visit to my dear friends
the Reids in Houston, Texas, where I'm singing in Trinity Lutheran Church in
a place called Kline, plus one or two other smaller things. On the following
Monday I head down to Destin Florida, to participate in an Anglican church
conference. It's a very special event, and I feel privileged to be invited.
The rest of January and February is taken up with engagements here in
the UK. If you're in the Scottish central belt, do try to make it to Kelvin
Hall in Glasgow on the evening of January 30th. It's an event for people
with a heart to see a reviving in the church in Scotland, and Tommy MacNeil,
a friend of mine , is a young preacher who is really being used by God.
You'll see that on February 23rd I'm working again with our young
artist Nikki Gardiner. Nikki has been doing really well since starting
touring in September. She's done around 40 youth concerts, and made lots of
friends! The Christian child aid organisation Compassion is taking Nikki
on , as they have me, as an associate artist, and on Saturday Nikki is
flying to Nicaragua in Central America to witness first hand the work that
Compassion does. She's particularly excited to be going on the trip with an
American Christian girl group called Zoe Girl. I believe that this trip
will make a tremendous impact on Nikki, and that after it she will be able
to speak on Compassion's work at youth events with a conviction that comes
from personal experience.
If you are involved in youth work in any way, I do encourage you
to consider inviting Nikki to sing and speak. She's being going down
wonderfully well in schools work, so this might also be something to
consider. If you're interested, drop a line to her manager Lynne, at
lskellern@aol.com Lynne is
accompanying Nikki to Nicaragua--- please pray for them both!
Best wishes, Ian.
