Hi everyone, and thanks for logging on.
Well, after all the intense recording time working on 'Rise Up' and Nikki
Gardiner's album, 'Here', I'm now right back in to my autumn concert
schedule. Along with about half of the population, I've been smitten by a
cold, but have managed to sing through it ok! Last night I was in
Virginia Water , near Bracknell, flew back up today, and tomorrow I have a
concert in the village of Kincardine. It's being run by my good friend Jock
Stein, as an alternative to the largely pagan Hallowe'en thing. We're not
expecting a huge attendance, but we feel it's worthwhile offering a Christian
event on the night.
I have a nice week-end at home with Carol and the boys [ we're having a
Saturday night firework party, since I'm away on the 5th itself ! ] ,
then leave for Nashville on Monday. The Nashville trips are always
combinations of meetings with one or two of the publishing companies I have
contact with, and almost always very fruitful times of song-writing. This trip
I've decided to begin work on a new children's project, something I've had on
the back burner for ages now. This recent spell of getting more involved in
the children's work in our local church has fuelled this a bit -- even though
I continue to get huge mileage out of my existing set of 40 odd children's
songs, I really need to get some new ones done! Speaking of our own
church, the monthly evening services that I take have continued, with the
children's band slowly gaining in competence! On Sunday last there was a
real sense of worship in the service too, and this is my deep prayer-- that
the kids don't just see it as a fun thing to do, but get to experience
participating in worship. I have to confess, I'm disappointed in how few folks
have been coming along from our own area-- but we''ll persevere!
The last couple of weeks have also seen me
handing over all Nikki Gardiner's tour management to a girl called Lynne
Skellern. I've known Lynne for several years, and she's just perfect for the
job. She's based in the Lake district, and as well as travelling with Nikki,
she's now responsible for organising all Nikki's bookings. we've had some
great encouragements already. One youth leader had asked for a CD to hear
what Nikki was like, and e-mailed almost as soon as he had listened to it , to
book Nikki for two concerts! If you'd be interested in more information
about having Nikki come and do a concert for your 10-15 year olds, get in
touch with Lynne, at lskellern@aol.com
Make sure you have a look at Nikki's website too---

Lastly, please try to have a look at the
India Ministries Fellowship page on this website. Carol and I have been
involved with this wonderfully worthwhile children's charity for many years
now, and the facility to make a small gift is available in the 'online store'
alongside the CDs. Have a look!
My next update will be when I come back from
Nashville, so in the meantime, thanks so much once again for all your
interest, and I hope our music continues to bless you!
Ian White.
